- Con Dao or "Con Son Dao Ngoc" (Pearl Island) is in the East Sea of about 97 nautical miles from Vung Tau. Visitor could also go by helicopter but this was able to take just 20 people at a time. Moreover, the infrastructure for entertaining tourists until ecently remainned unsatisfactory.
- Located in the middle of Con Son Island, 180 kilometers South East of Vung Tau City - a peaceful town lying on the beautiful and quiet bay of Vietnam
- 1-hour helicopter flight from Vung Tau Airport or 1-hour flight from Ho Chi Minh City
- 12 hours by boat from Vung Tau
On Con Son there are several good beaches worth finding Inquire at the hotels about snorkelling gear rental for about 50,000d per day.
- Bai Dat Doc in one nice beach with beds of seagrass and the possibility of sighting dugongs. Bai Nhat is small and very nice, but there are a good number of fishing boats moored nearby, anda few too many sandflies. Bai Loi Voi is Ok as well, and shallow.
- The best beaches of all are on the islands, such as the beautiful white-sand beach on Tre Lon. Perhaps the best all round island to visit is Bay Canh, which has lovely beaches, old-growth forest, mangroves, coral reffs (good snorkelling at low tide) and sea turtles (sea sonal). There is a fantastic two hour walk to a functioning French-built lighthouse.
