HCM City to have streets for pedestrians
HCM City authorities are considering to set up streets for pedestrians in the city’s hub. The Saigontourist Corporation is responsible for this plan
Under the plan, Nguyen Hue road and the road along the western bank of the Saigon River will be turned into streets for pedestrians only.
The first phase of this plan is scheduled to be completed before April 30. Accordingly, Nguyen Hue road will be opened for pedestrians only.
To attract visitors, shops and entertainment centres will be arranged along the road, starting from the Nguyen Hue – Le Loi intersection to Nguyen Hue – Ton Duc Thang intersection.
This road will be reserved for walkers two days a week, Saturday and Sunday, from 6:00pm-12:00pm.
In the second phase, Saigontourist will build two story basements on Nguyen Hue road to serve tourists.
The first phase of this plan is scheduled to be completed before April 30. Accordingly, Nguyen Hue road will be opened for pedestrians only.
