Built on the ruins of an ancient pagoda named Thien An Thien Tu, and using remains of that ancient pagoda's floor, Truc Lam Tay Thien Zen Monastery sits majestically on the apex of the mountain, where from below the red tips of its tile-covered roof can be seen peaking through the pine trees. Truc Lam Tay Thien Zen Monastery was officially inaugurated on November 27, 2005. It is very ornate, from carved pictures on the doors to embossed works on the wall, ceiling, and pillars, every detail was considered.
In addition to the monastery there are supporting buildings constructed in the ancient architectural style that house a library, a museum, a meditation house for monks and the Tam To Truc Lam Temple.

Walking around the buildings, you can almost taste the tranquility and calm that is in the air. Visitors can go up by motorbike or car to gate of Zen Monastery along concrete path. Otherwise, you can climb up to enjoy grandiose overview from the bottom.
Truc Lam Tay Thien Zen Monastery is just 17km far from Tam Dao Golf Club so tourists can go both sightseeing, relax and picnic.

With 2-day tour, whole morning and half of afternoon of your first day should be spent on climbing to Tay Thien. Do not forget to be full for breakfast to get enough energy for pretty long promenade up to peak of the mountain admiring its waterfall from that height. It may take a lot of time for a tour discovering all about Tay Thien with visits to Dong Co (Đồng Cỏ) pagoda, Thong (Thống) temple, Ca (Cả) temple, Giai oan (vindication) brook. For adventurous tourists, path alongside the stream to those temples should much preferred. However, there exists a safer and easier path to those temples with mountainside stairs. Enough foods and drinks should be brought along since climbing to that high mountain with long promenade definitely gets you exhausted.
On your way down the mountain late afternoon, tourist should drop by Zen monastery of Tay Thien that has just been put into official operation. 10kms from that place is Tam Dao. Tourist may stay at either lodges or indulge themselves in luxuriously romantic resorts. Belvedere is much preferred by tourists because of its comfortableness and newness. Dinner at Tam Dao always serves its speciality - chayote coming in various preparations. Chayote stalks are much green and sweet. A romantic night will surely get you balanced after a lot of hard activities in Tay Thien.
Tourists, next morning, may be in white clouds and admire dawn with glistening sunlights shined onto 3 highest mounts here including Ban Thach, Thien Nhi, and Phu Nghia if getting up early. In the morning, you get chances to discover many interesting things on Thien Nhi after climbing through 1400 stairs to reach the peak, witnessing with your own eyes broadcast tower of over 100m, getting a panorama of Vinh Phuc. Ba Vi - Ha Noi will also turn up in your vision there. You will feel like your soul flying in clouds and tottering with a bamboo bridge spanning across Bac stream. Prior to being back in the afternoon, tourist may drop in Ba chu thuong ngan temple, buy specialities of Tam Dao - chayote, then back to your home and work
